REPRESENTATIVE CLIENT MATTERS

In wage and hour and unfair competition class action Lltigation, I have successfully represented an agricultural cooperative in California regarding their wage, hour, and unfair competition class action. The initial action was dismissed on the eve of trial. Months later, the action was refiled and the client prevailed ultimately in the U.S. Federal District Court.

I successfully defended a commodities marketer/wholesaler in arbitration against claims by former employees for alleged California wage and hour overtime violations, unfair competition, and wrongful discharge claims.

I have obtained successful dismissals with prejudice of three related federal district court actions commenced against a California professional firm arising in connection with multiple, hundred million corporate tax shelter investigation by the U.S. Justice Department and Internal Revenue Service.

Environmental/Real Estate Litigation – I successfully managed a multi-hundreds of million dollar professional liability lawsuits against a major California-based law firm arising from the development and construction of a new public high school complex in a California city. The action resolved favorably during an appeal from a summary judgment ruling in favor of the professional defendants represented.

On behalf of a California bank, I successfully managed and oversaw outside regulatory and internal bank audits. I have successfully prosecuted a claim for fidelity bond coverage, for a bank arising from a former senior bank manager's misappropriation of substantial bank funds.

I have represented businesses, business owners and insureds, successfully settling first and third-party liability insurance claims, getting the client's claim paid, and  in one case within a business day of being retained.

Corporate Media and Leadership Training Company – I represented successfully,  a principal publisher in start-up and joint publishing ventures.

Successful representations of insurance policyholders in numerous insurance coverage, insurance bad faith claims, and policyholder insurance coverage litigation.

I have conducted successful representation of insurance carriers in managing insurance coverage litigation and achieving the disposition of such claims acting as insurance coverage counsel in California, Arizona, and Nevada, among other states.

I have 30 years of experience providing general counsel services to primarily California-based nonprofit organizations in all aspects of start-up, corporate governance, management, reorganization, regulatory and reporting compliance, risk management, development and implementation of nonprofit programming initiatives, major capital development matters, mergers and acquisitions, dissolution and winding up matters, among other issues.
